Carolina Residence

Rather than presenting a single monolithic form, the residence is composed as a series of offset volumes that break down the overall scale while creating a dynamic architectural composition from every angle.

The design is centered on the experience of living—carefully balancing openness, privacy, and connection to the outdoors. A welcoming front entry is softened by a vertical architectural screen that filters views while creating depth and rhythm along the street-facing façade. As the home unfolds, covered outdoor living spaces and expansive openings blur the boundary between inside and out, extending daily life beyond the walls of the home.

At the rear, the architecture creates a layered sequence of gathering spaces, from the covered patio to the pool terrace and an elevated rooftop deck that captures additional views and provides another destination for entertaining and relaxation. Each outdoor space is intentionally positioned to feel connected while maintaining its own sense of purpose.

The result is a residence defined by thoughtful composition rather than ornament—where simple forms, carefully considered proportions, and purposeful spatial relationships create a home that is both distinctive within its North Carolina context and timeless in its architectural expression.
